Clearing Clogged Burner Ports
If a burner sparks but the flame is weak, uneven, or won’t catch, the small ports around the burner ring are likely clogged with spilled food or grease. Turn the gas off, let the burner cool, and clear each port with a straightened paperclip or a pin — never a toothpick, which can snap off inside. Wipe the burner dry and try again.
When It’s the Igniter or Spark Module
If cleaning and drying don’t fix it, the fault is electrical. A Viking igniter electrode that no longer sparks, or a spark module that fires all burners at once, needs replacement with genuine OEM parts.
